FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Virtual Coaches support Teachers in developing classroom management practices and instructional strategies that maximize student’s success. After a thorough intake, Coaches determine one or two key areas specific to the teachers needs. From there, Coaches and Teachers work closely together until  goals are met (at which point, new goals will be created!).

A Virtual Coach may assist in designing an upcoming unit plan, scripting higher-order thinking questions, or role playing a classroom management strategy. She may also offer personalized PD in a specific strategy, co-analyze a videotaped lesson, review student work, analyze student data, or co-author parent communication…the list goes on! Our Coaches will be hands on throughout the entire process, ensuring that their assigned teacher meets and exceeds the goals they’ve set for themselves.

We cover a variety of Coaching Topics including:

  • Classroom management
  • Time management
  • Creating standards aligned units and lesson plans

Virtual Coaching is all about convenience! Virtual coaches work with teachers to create a plan that is tailored to meet the Teachers scheduling needs and comfort level with virtual platforms. After a day and time to “meet” each week is agreed upon, coaches and teachers then decide if sessions are best conducted over the phone, Google Hangouts, Zoom, email, etc. The options are endless and may change depending on the work load and focus of the sessions.

Our Virtual Coaches are given a thorough profile of each school/district, citing specific strengths and challenges, demographics, instructional programs and practices, curriculum, student performance, and more. Once teachers are matched with a coach, they collaborate on developing a personalized plan.

Together, they strategically tackle goals that will have the greatest impact on the teacher’s practice. By sharing student data, videos of classroom practice, uploading artifacts, collaborating on lesson plans and assignments, role playing and more, Teachers receive one-on-one professional development customized for their specific goals, needs, and strengths.

The Virtual Coach’s only focus is supporting and helping to improve the Teachers current practice – not bogging them down with too many responsibilities that distract from their current workload. They receive weekly undivided attention with their success and that of their students as top priority.
